    Vortigaunts

    Overview

This species is not native to the border-world Xen. Interaction with the species has led us to believe that they were forced to flee from their home-world by a force known as [CLASSIFIED]. They are a social species, holding the lives of their kin as something almost sacred. They believe in a binding force, that is responsible for all living things. It is unknown if this has anything to do with their energy-related abilities, as they claim.

The species is clearly not aggressive, although they will use their powers in armed conflict. Until recently, they have been seen wearing thick green chains. It is presumed that this overrides their natural thinking, effectively enslaving them.

    Status

After recent events, a large portion of the species offered volunteers for research, in return for safety. Currently, there are multiple facilities housing these individuals as permanent housing, whilst a very small portion live within various Black Mesa research centers, as volunteer test subjects.

From recent expeditions, it is still clear that some of the species are unable to be reasoned with, still having the bright green chains limiting their reasoning. No method has been successful at removing them.

    Human Social Views

Although it is very clear that many individuals that even know about the species' existence, have high levels of uncertainty as to whether or not they can be trusted, many government personal can see pity for the fleeing species. So far there have been no reports of inhumane treatment by the staff that operate their current living facilities, and overall they seem to be living well. It would be worth noting that these facilities are separate from the Black Mesa research centers. Only volunteers ever see actual testing.

Their existence is completely unknown to the general population. There are certainly no plans for mixing them with the general population.

All volunteers are to be treated with respect, whilst the captured "Drones" are to be treated with any force that is necessary.

    Drones

Although a large portion of the species live under the supervision of the Government, a smaller portion are still known to have chains, limiting their reasoning.

These chains to NOT limit the subject's ability to feel fear. If captured alive, physical force may be necessary to keep the individual under control. They do not maintain the same rights as the unchained.

    Directions

All unchained Vortigaunts are to be treated with respect. They are not to be used for any harmful or otherwise abusive testing. All testing is to be done using non-lethal or harmful means. For example, blood tests or brain scans. If you are in need for a subject for autopsy, or for harmful testing, we advise using deceased or captured drones.

If any Vortigaunt wishes to be returned to the majority of their species in the housing facilities, then you must contact the HECU to organize their return. (IC this will just be a PK)

If a Vortigaunt becomes distressed, you are not to use Lethal measures unless they use their abilities to harm a member of staff. In cases of depressions, they must have access to high ranking doctors.

AT NO POINT ARE THEY TO BE EXPOSED, SHOWN OR OTHERWISE BE MADE KNOWN TO THE GENERAL POPULATION. DOING THIS WILL RESULT IN ARREST
